April 2018 Family Worship Center I am so pleased at the emails, phone calls, letters, and testimonials that we are getting concerning the services at Family Worship Center—Sunday morning at 10 a.m., Sunday night at 6 p.m., plus Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. The truth is, Family Worship Center is the home church of untold hundreds of thousands of people—even millions—all around the world. How so pleased and so happy we are to serve in this capacity. In the places where the services come on at a disadvantageous time, many people record the services and then play them back at a more opportune time. Others invite people to their homes and they worship with us, and we’re so pleased to see this happening. The Local Church The SonLife Broadcasting Network does everything within its power to build and strengthen the local church. In fact, there are any number of churches that have been built around the doctrine of Jesus Christ and Him crucified, or we might call it the Message of the Cross. We do everything we can to strengthen these churches, to help build them, and many are thriving, for which we give the Lord all the praise and all the glory. But of course, for every church we can recommend, that is only the proverbial drop in the bucket compared to the need. In other words, most people don’t have a good church to attend, and they make Family Worship Center their church, and rightly so. We encourage people to do this. At the same time, we encourage them to attend a local church if there is one in the vicinity that preaches the Cross. Unfortunately, there aren’t many that do. And please understand, it is very important what people hear preached from behind the pulpit. If it is false doctrine, or if it is no more than religious fluff, then it is a waste of time. One thing I can guarantee, anyone who tunes in to Family Worship Center will get the gospel—there is no foolishness and no false doctrine—it is the Cross, the Cross, the Cross! Thank You I am so grateful for those of you who support this work both prayerfully and financially every month. It means so very, very much. Regarding all that God has called us to do, which is to touch this world with the gospel of Jesus Christ, i.e., the Message of the Cross, we simply couldn’t do it without your help. So many of you tell us that you’re praying for us daily, and to be sure, I appreciate that more than words could begin to say. As Paul said, “Pray for us that the word of the Lord may have free course.” The Expositor’s Study Bible Do you realize that there are 3.25 million Expositor’s Study Bibles all over the world? I believe it is the Bible for the 21ST century. I believe it is that which is designated by the Holy Spirit. I may be wrong, but that’s what I believe. The Lord instructed me to put this Bible into the hands of every Third World pastor in the world, and that is exactly what we have set out to do. I thank all of you who are helping to make it possible, for without you, we simply couldn’t do it. We have put Dan Burritt in charge of distribution, which covers the entirety of the world. He will work under Jim Woolsey, and to be sure Dan has a real burden to get this task completed. He has been doing this in a de facto way now for about two years. But we felt it was time to make it official. Anything that will make the Bible easier to understand is valuable indeed. And to be sure, that’s what The Expositor’s Study Bible is all about—making the Word of God easier to understand. And there are some parts, especially in the Old Testament, and as well including the writings of the great apostle Paul, that are simply not easy to understand. When I come across a study Bible, the first thing I do is to look at the book of Romans, the sixth chapter. If the writer is concluding that to be about water baptism, then I know that they have precious little understanding of what Paul taught, which means that whatever it is they are giving the people is not the gospel. That’s what makes The Expositor’s Study Bible so beneficial. It is not a half gospel or part gospel that is taught, but rather what we believe is the totality of the gospel. There is nothing more important than that. Incidentally, if you personally do not have a copy of The Expositor’s Study Bible, I would urge you, even twist your arm if possible, to remedy that situation and get a copy. You’ll be glad you did. Radio For just a moment I want to speak to those who listen to Sonlife Broadcasting at least somewhat on radio. Our radio response has been very slim since we have magnified television as it is presently. And yet, we have untold numbers of people, the moment they get in the car, they turn on SonLife Radio, at least if we come into that area. This is what we want you to do: We have had any number of churches built as a result of the radio stations all across the country, and for that we are so thankful. But, at the same time, too many take the attitude of “let television take care of it.” Television has its hands full, so to speak. So what am I saying? If SonLife Radio is a blessing to you in any capacity, I am asking that each month you set aside something to help us with the expenses. And that expense is fluctuating between $50,000 and $100,000 a month. So I think it would be obvious that we need your help. If you do not get one of the stations and listen periodically, then we do not expect to hear from you, at least if you cannot get the radio signal. But if you do, and it is a blessing to you, please, we need your help. For instance, last month we had to purchase a new transmitter for one of the stations, which cost some $70,000. Thank the Lord, we don’t have to do that every month, but occasionally we do. So, if radio comes your way, pray about what I’ve said, and do what you can do.
