First Of All…
I want to wish each and every one of you a very happy new year, believing that it’s going to be the greatest year yet. I know that some of you meet this year with a heavy heart because of problems that took place in the previous months; however, while nothing can take the place of the Lord Jesus Christ, He can take the place of anything. It may take a little while, but if we turn everything over to Him, He will do exactly that of which I have mentioned.
Others will meet this year with great faith and a belief that God is going to do great and mighty things. At the ministry, we are believing for the greatest harvest of souls yet!
A Revelation From The Lord
I believe the Lord has spoken the following to my heart: A short time ago, in our morning program (which sometimes airs in the afternoon or evening), there was a moving of the Holy Spirit at the very conclusion of the program. As the Spirit of God moved, I prayed with people and for people to be saved. We always do that when there is an operation of the Holy Spirit. At any rate, when the program ended, the Lord spoke to my heart that for which I had been praying for so long.
He first of all told me something that I already knew, which was this: as His Spirit moved through the television airwaves, wherever that signal went, the Spirit of God would go in order for souls to be saved and lives to be changed.
And then I believe He spoke to me and said: “I am going to give this ministry an anointing of the Holy Spirit and a convicting power of the Holy Spirit such as it has never known before. And through the television programming, My Spirit is going to move mightily with untold numbers giving their hearts to Christ as the convicting power of the Holy Spirit moves upon them.”
I believe this is what the Lord gave to me, and I believe that it is going to happen.
To be frank, I have been seeking the Lord for this for a number of years. He has answered prayer after prayer, even in the most astounding ways possible, but I have not seen, as of yet, this of which I have mentioned. Souls saved, yes; believers baptized with the Holy Spirit, yes; but what we have seen is nothing by comparison to what I believe we will see.
I Would Ask This Of You
I know that any number of you who hold this magazine in your hands know how to pray. In fact, some of you the Lord has used in the power and spirit of intercession. You know what I’m talking about if that speaks to you. I’m asking that you, even on a daily basis, would pray for us.
Pray that we would do exactly what the Lord wants done. Pray that the power of the Spirit would move as never before, resulting in a harvest of unprecedented proportions. I ask this of you, I need it desperately, and I appreciate your taking to heart that which I have stated. Very much is at stake, and we speak of the greatest of all—the souls of men.
Revival?
I pray that I’m wrong, but I don’t really see a revival in the near future. I would to God that this would happen, but the Word of God tells us that these last days—and we are living in the last days, even the last of the last days—is going to see a spiritual declension as never before, called apostasy.
This is what the Word of God tells us: “Now the Spirit speaks expressly that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils” (I Tim. 4:1).
The great apostle then said, “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth” (II Tim. 3:1-7).
Jesus said, “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot: I would you were cold or hot. So then because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of My mouth” (Rev. 3:15-16).
Harvest?
As stated, I don’t really see a revival among the churches that will come in these last days, even though I certainly would pray that it would. But I do see a harvest of souls, and a harvest such as the world has never known before, which will take place through television as it can reach untold millions all around the world. In fact, our computer department tells us that some 2 billion people can now tune into SonLife Broadcasting Television, if they so desire. As that signal goes to these people, and Holy Spirit conviction settles in their heart, untold numbers can be brought to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. I believe that’s what we’re going to see. That’s the reason I plead with you to pray with us that we will do exactly what the Holy Spirit wants and conduct ourselves accordingly.
I Look To You
Of course, most and first of all, I look to the Lord. I must have the leading, the guidance, and the power of the Holy Spirit. Yet, each of you who hold this magazine in your hands plays a great part in these things that I’ve just mentioned. So don’t take yourself lightly. God has raised you up for such a time as this. You are helping to support both prayerfully and financially what we believe is going to be the greatest move of God the world has ever known. The Lord never goes backward. He always goes forward, and He does things that have not previously been done.
Think about it—one of our programs, in just one hour’s time, can reach more people in the world today than all the missionaries in the world all put together. Don’t misunderstand, we are not at all demeaning missionaries, but the truth is the truth, and by this technological advancement and with the power of the Holy Spirit, untold numbers can be instantly reached and can be brought to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
As we come into this new year, it’s going to be the greatest ever—that I believe.
