The Holy Spirit
Taking of the gospel to the entirety of the world is imperative as it regards the Holy Spirit. In other words, more than anything else, He wants—even demands—that this be done. “And He said unto them, Go ye into all the world (the gospel of Christ is not merely a Western gospel, as some claim, but is for the entirety of the world), and preach the gospel to every creature (preaching is God’s method, as is here plainly obvious; as well, it is imperative that every single person have the opportunity to hear; this is the responsibility of every believer).” Mark 16:15, The Expositor’s Study Bible
The Great White Throne Judgment
Untold millions, actually all who died outside of Christ, will stand one day at the great white throne judgment, and they will answer for their lives.
Many of them, perhaps the greater majority, when they hear the words, “I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity,” will then say to the Lord that they did not know anything about Jesus Christ. They had no opportunity to hear, meaning they had no opportunity to accept or reject. Sad to say, that will be the situation with most.
It is the business of the church to take the gospel to the world. That’s the reason that we are on television. That’s the reason we do everything we can to take this gospel to the entirety of the world. We believe it is the single most important thing on the face of the earth.
Error
Many would pose the question: If the people had no opportunity to hear, then surely God would not hold them responsible. No, that is not the case. They are held responsible.
If, for any reason, God allowed unsaved people into heaven who had not accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, then heaven would soon become a hell. And, please believe me, I am not exaggerating the situation. To go to heaven, an individual must accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Our Lord paid a terrible price at Calvary’s cross in order that we might be saved. There is no way around that; it has to be. Every person has to accept Jesus Christ as his or her Savior and Lord, that is, if they are to make heaven their eternal home.
Not Fair
Some would say that such a program is not fair. If people have no opportunity to hear, then they should not be held responsible.
Again, God has no choice in the matter. He cannot allow anyone into heaven who is not born again. As we have already stated, heaven would soon become a hell.
My Responsibility And Yours
I am obligated in every way to take this message of redemption to the entirety of the world. That includes every believer, and it includes you as well.
How thankful I am for those of you who are so faithful to the work of God, to help take this message, the grandest the world has ever known, to the entirety of the world. Without you, our efforts would be very limited. Without you, we simply could not do what God has called us to do. Without you, our efforts would be fruitless.
Again, I thank you for your help, your burden, your care, your concern. It is extremely important, and thankfully you are faithful to the task.
I believe the Holy Spirit is very proud of every believer who carries out this task. I believe that your reward will be great in heaven as it regards what you have done, and what you are presently doing. This is something we must do. We really do not have a choice in the matter. We simply must do the best we can to help take this great story to the world.
As I have already stated, it is going to be extremely embarrassing for the Holy Spirit to have to address people who never had an opportunity to be saved. They did not know, so they could not accept or reject. And, again, allow me to state, absence of the gospel does not insure salvation. It is the very opposite.
Thank you for hearing me out,
In the Master’s service, yours,
Jimmy Swaggart
