From me to you by Jimmy Swaggart
September 2016

And through those doors, by the grace of God, we must go. The Lord has given us a mandate, and it includes the entirety of the world. Yes, I said the entire world. Now please read the following very carefully because I think you will find it to be extremely important.

We believe that it is possible for us to place The Expositor’s New Testament into the hands of Chinese pastors. Yes, you read it correctly. To be frank, this is a miracle of unprecedented proportions. Actually, by the time you read this, we should be very close to getting it done, if not already.

I have asked the Lord for the entirety of the world, and to be sure, nothing is impossible with God. When Jim Woolsey told me of this, which he has been working on for over two years, I can’t tell you how I felt. I’ve been praying for this myself for over two years, that God would open up China. And now He is beginning to do so.

I want you to pray about this, and do so earnestly, as I know you will. Do you realize that China has the largest number of Christians than any nation in the world? Of course, it has a population of 1.3 billion, which is about four to five times larger than the U.S. God is moving in that great country, and we must get this word to them. Incidentally, the people who interpreted the Expositor’s New Testament into Chinese are now working on the Old Testament as well. In other words, we should have the complete Bible in approximately two years.

As you must understand, translation is very delicate, very time consuming, and an extremely difficult project. It has to be done right because it is the Word of God. Somewhere on this page, I would hope that they could give you a part of the page of Chinese translation. It will be unlike anything you have ever seen.

Some have said that we should slow down and not try to do too much at one time. Do we have the time to wait? Is it possible that it would be right for us to wait on souls being saved? I don’t think so. The Scripture plainly and clearly says, “Today if you will hear His voice” (Heb. 3:15). There is nothing said about tomorrow. The gospel is today! The time is today! We must not wait until tomorrow, but we must do everything within our power to make the gospel available today.

Yes, I realize that we are pushing hard, and we are doing so because we believe this is what the Holy Spirit has told us to do.

Let me ask the following of you: Pray for us daily. I solicit these prayers simply because I know how important it is. As well, I’m asking monthly for your financial support. Of course, I cannot do all of these things unless the Lord opens your hearts. Many of you already have your hearts open and for that we are eternally grateful. If our people tell us that they need 100,000 New Testaments for China, or possibly even 300,000 or 400,000, do you realize what that will cost? At the same time, do you realize what a miracle this would be, getting this many Bibles, if the Lord would open the door, into the hands of these men and women? I told our people whenever I was given the news that we would immediately print 10,000 New Testaments. They said to me, “Brother Swaggart, the very least that we need is 30,000 copies.” And that’s just the beginning. Let me say it again, we can’t do all of this without your help. So many of you are giving us your help; you have been so faithful and such a help that only eternity will be able to proclaim the worth of your efforts for this ministry. Yet I need all of you to set aside something each month for the work of God.

Do you realize that this, which the Holy Spirit is carrying out, just might be the greatest effort in the world? We must work and labor exactly as though it is. We thank God for every ministry in the world that is truly preaching the gospel, and our prayers are with them that they will grow and do even more. Of course we do desire that. At the same time, I must conduct this ministry as though it is the only ministry on earth. And you must support it in the same fashion. Jesus told us, “Pray you therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He would send forth laborers into His harvest” (Lk. 10:2).

That’s what I’m asking for—laborers. And thank God many of you fit that category. The truth is, I need an army.

The other day a man told Jim Woolsey, “Brother Woolsey, it’s very difficult to find a place where you can properly sow seed and realize it’s going to bring forth results for the Lord.” Then the man said, “But now I have found it,” and he was speaking of the SonLife Broadcasting Network and the entirety of this ministry. I want to say yes to that—you can be sure that your money is reaching souls for Christ. You can be certain that what we’re preaching is strictly the Word of God, “Jesus Christ and Him crucified.”

I would hope that you would take advantage of all of the offers in this magazine. As well, I would pray that you would by all means get the books that we offer, and when you get them, read them. They are easy to read—reader-friendly you might say. And above all, you will learn something about the Word of God, and nothing is more important than that.

I’m speaking to the thousands of you who support this work, who stand with us both prayerfully and financially. For me to say thank you seems woefully insufficient, yet I know that what you do is not for me, necessarily, but it’s for the Lord. And I know this one thing: God is blessing every one of you and will bless every one of you who stands with us in this enterprise to touch the entirety of the world.

We love every one of you, God bless you,
